Ply wood, epoxy with Interdeck / Multicoat on top. Unconventional approach but very durable. Deck is sound and solid. Maintenance of deck is no more than a layer of Interdeck once a year and refreshing of the Multicoat sections once every 4-5 years.
Hull:
Clinker planked larch all copper fastened to steamed oak timbers on an oak back-bone. Above waterline: planking stripped to bare wood and a new paint system (Hempel Primer Undercoat and Multicoat) applied 2008/2009. Proved to be very durable and of low maintenance. Below waterline: over the decades multiple layers of antifoul and underwater primer have been applied but taken as a whole underwater area in good condition with some room for improvement form a cosmetic point of view. Exterior iron ballast keel with iron bolts through the grown oak floors. All layers of paint/primer and rust removed from ballast keel in 2016. New paint system applied: epoxy primer (SigmaPrime200), interim layer, antifoul (Hempel NCT). Still in very good condition. I cannot make any statement on the condition of the keel bolts.
Antifoul:
Hempel NCT

Owner Comments
Sharavoge is one of a pair built for the Guiness brothers from Dublin. Her history is very well documented. The name Sharavoge has never changed. In second ownership of Jonathan Virden she took part in the 1976 OSTAR transatlantic race. Sharavoge is far from being a refit project. I wish to see her returning to the UK in caring hands. Money is not my primary concern, hence the low price but the offer only applies if the boat is actually returned to the UK into the hands of someone willing and capable of looking after her well.
